LOANS

As the publishing course is self-funding, you may need to take out a loan to cover your expenses. Career development loans, primarily designed for vocational courses, are the most popular postgraduate loans.

The publishing course is considered a professional qualification, and you will therefore be eligible for a loan from £300 to £8,000. The advantage of a career development loan is that the interest on the loan is paid for by the DfES while you are still studying.

To apply for a career development loan you can visit Barclays, The Royal Bank of Scotland or The Co-operative Bank.

Alternatively call the CDL Information Line on 0800 585 505 with any enquiries and/or to request an application form.

You can also visit the website: www.lifelonglearning.co.uk/cdl/learn

You may wish to negotiate a loan with your own bank; many high street banks offer a Professional studies loan for postgraduates at a competitive rate.
